Proofred is importance

\

Today In class we watched a video of a guy explaining the importance of proofreading a paper before turning it in to a teacher. He did not exactly explain the importance, but spoke as if he had not proofread. It was comical, yet very informing. I think proofreading gets overlooked and thought of as unnecessary. The truth is proofreading could take your grade on a paper from a B to an A. It's extremely important to take the time to proofread a paper, and even get another person to proofread it as well. After watching the video, we then got into groups and looked over one anothers papers. I appreciate the idea of getting fellow classmates to proofread a paper.

Rough Draft Anyone?

I was not expecting this rough draft on crime to be due so soon. I am the biggest procrastinator in the world and I should have probably started working on the rough draft before now. I'm not exactly sure what the topic of my paper is yet. I don't want to chose something that everyone is likely to do, but I also don't want to chose something that will be too difficult to find information on. The topic for the paper is crime and punishment so I was considering writing about a serial killer or something of that nature but I'm stumped on how I would incorporate the argumentative part of the paper. I think I'm going to go take a nap and then come back to the rough draft....maybe my topic will come to me in my dreams.

Remembering 9/11

On this day 12 years ago, there were 4 different terrorist attacks on America executed by al-Queda. The main attack was on the twin towers in New York City. The attacks made by al-Queda devastated the people of America. Thousands of lives were lost including those that were working, firefighters, police officers, EMS crew members, those on flights, and innocent civilians walking the streets. The attacks that took place were inexcuseable. Fortunately, Americans stuck together and supported one another in mourning and rebuilding. Today, the attacks have only made America stronger. We now have stricted laws regarding airline security. There is now a memorial being built near where the twin towers once stood. This memorial is going to be used as remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9/11.

A Proper Introduction

I suppose I should tell a little about myself before I begin ranting about things. Well, my name is Lindsey Snead and I'm 18 years old. I came to Bland as a senior at Prince George High School to get ahead of the game and so far it has been the best decision i could have made. So, this is my sophomore year at Bland and i plan to transfer to VCU next Fall. My goal is to major in social work and ultimately work for Child Protective Services.  I'm the average college student working hard and playing harder. I have 2 jobs and somehow i still manage to fit my schoolwork, family time, and spending time with friends in. I am a super outgoing person and i truly try to make the best out of every situation. On the flip side, i can be super opinionated and rather blunt at times.
